Before buying, make sure you go to a store to try physical sizes. If it is too big or too small, it is unnecessary.
These gloves are perfect for things like removing the wheels and tires, or handling things a little warm (engine components obviously not warm, but things have cooled a bit). They are not good for oil changes. If you get oil on them is a pain to clean. Only way I can think to throw in the washer, but the thought of motor oil in my washing machinescares me a little. Recommend using regular latex for a potentially messy working fluid.
Do not remember how many times that saved me from cuts and scrapes. The padding is nice and the fabric is thick enough to provide a decent amount of protection.
I do not work ALL (except fluids) without them. Highly recommended.
